The Tidwater Group- Corporate Social Responsibility
The Tidewater Group has a passion for business, the environment and community. We are acutely aware of our responsibility to perform at a high level for our clients; equally important is performing in a socially and environmentally responsible manner for our environment, neighbors and future generations.
Currently, The Tidewater Group’s size and areas of performance do not lend themselves well to GRI’s (Global Reporting Initiative) reporting format for sustainability. Therefore, we find it easier and more transparent to simply list our current approach, challenges and future direction for your review. As we grow and align better with GRI’s outline we’ll report accordingly.
Approach
For 2009, The Tidewater Group is committed to being a carbon neutral entity. To get there we are always looking at ways to reduce raw material needed for us to perform our day to day tasks, purchasing recycled products when viable e.g. office supplies, purchasing power from renewable resources and offsetting any remaining carbon emissions via carbon credits.
In addition to being carbon neutral we will donate 2.5% of our profits to charitable organizations and empower all of our employees to donate up to 50 hours per year to their favorite charity/non-profit.
Challenges
The biggest challenge across all our organizations is carbon emissions since most of our engagements are mileage intensive.
Future
As we grow as a company and more efficient ways to remotely perform work or mobilize resources present themselves we will do all we can to take advantage of those economies.
The common thread amongst The Tidewater Group’s areas of focus is adding value to businesses, families and community, through socially and environmentally sound business practices. We have a passion for what we do and leverage that passion in our approach to creating solutions that are win-win-win (Economic, Social, Environmental). We thank you for your interest in how we express our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and would love to hear how you express yours. To share, please email us at CSR@tidewatergroup.net.
Be Well,
